The Obama administration couldn’t hold its horses for a day and wait for our Friday editorial “A last-minute reprieve” to run. The administration granted states an extra month to decide if they will create their own health insurance exchanges or let the federal government do it for them. …
For McDonnell, one door closes . . .
Mitt Romney’s loss to President Obama this month dashed the political hopes of Gov. Bob McDonnell for a prominent role in a Republican administration, at least for now. The onetime state attorney general is barred by Virginia law from succeeding himself as governor, and he’s heading into the final year of his term. Soon he’ll need another job high-profile enough to nurture his ambitions. …
