With the president’s re-election the ACA will now be fully implemented, partisan politics have no place in the health care needs of Virginians. Expand Medicaid, establish the state-run exchange. The time for gridlock has passed.

All options are still available. To not commit prior to the definitive need, with the ACA very much in question, was reasonable. If not prudent.

The Governor was much too busy with his “pick me” campaign for the Vice Presidential spot and his constant appearances on Faux News and on the Sunday TV circuit to pay attention to this trivial matter. Add that to the immense time he spent barnstorming the country to raise money for Republican Governors and his conviction that the polls were skewed and that Romney would waltz into the White House has left Virginians holding the bag. Governor ultrasound and his colleagues deserve to be roundly repudiated at the polls in 2013.

A timely, excellent editorial piece. It would have been that much better if you had included information that the Exchange deadline has been extended to at least Dec. 14 and in some cases, into February. There is time. Instead of waiting every two, four, or six years to poll VA politicians on the issues, why do you not now do so on this very issue – the issue of our time, even more so than even Medicaid, Medicare was then.
