We refuse to heed warning on federal deficit
By Paul T. Bryan
Sometimes it takes a different perspective to see an issue more clearly. I’m talking specifically about the $16 trillion federal deficit that continues to grow, is projected to be more than $20 trillion by 2016, and was in no way considered an urgent issue with the re-election of President Barack Obama and the same divided Congress. Humans by nature will recognize a threat only when the consequences are undeniably obvious, or when it’s too late to get out of the way.
