U.S. immigration laws are so convoluted, even a rocket scientist can have trouble figuring them out.
Gaetano Esposito is a research scientist in aerospace engineering at the University of Virginia. The 28-year-old Italian would like to take a job in the aerospace industry, but faces obstacles because of his temporary H1B visa, which is awarded to skilled foreign workers. He’s applied for a permanent green card, but the first step takes four months, and he gets a little hazy about the process after that.
