		<description><![CDATA[The truth is that UVa has an vision crisis. Is it to be Jefferson&#039;s academic village or is it to be Virginia&#039;s leading university in a 21st Century world? This division of opinion is hurting the Commonwealth.
And the Governor is not helping by standing aside and hoping for a good outcome.  The board members appointed are not people that would be good for any board of a  major university. They certainly would not be considered by Duke or Princeton or the University of Michigan as qualified to be directors..providing strong forward looking direction and seeking involvement of leading faculty in that effort.
Virginia is losing ground in the emerging global and national economy.  New direction will be lead in part by our national universities and unfortunately Virginia is not looking for that kind of leadership...]]></description>
