More like the right to freeload
By Danny Axsom
Republicans in Michigan have just enabled workers there to reap all the benefits negotiated for them by their union co-workers without paying a penny — in other words, to freeload.
By federal law, workers can’t be forced to join a union at their place of employment, nor can they be required to pay dues for causes they don’t support, such as donating to a particular political candidate.

Funny how those who usually decry “freeloaders” will never do so here.
#1 You are absolutely correct Mrs. Saunders.
I do not equate someone who wishes to work for a living, but chooses not to join a union……to someone who continues to get pregnant to collect tax-paid “benifits”.
My bad.
“By federal law, workers can’t be forced to join a union at their place of employment, nor can they be required to pay dues for causes they don’t support, such as donating to a particular political candidate.” Right. But where do the largest contributions to union-friendly (Democrat) political candidates come from? Unions. This is nothing more than a money laundering scheme. Besides, if a particular union is doing a great job, it shouldn’t be terribly difficult to “sell” their services in the free market of ideas. No, not everyone will sign on, but this is the price of freedom. And if you’re one of those who rails against the top income earners in America, check out the actual compensation packages of union administrators–if you can find that information. But no, that’s the last place we’ll look as we demonize those who take the risks that provide employment for others.
#2 & 3 Oooooh, it’s the scary, boogeyman unions. Be afraid.
BTW, ever notice how the right has to lie about unions to make them look more powerful and nefarious than they are?
Oddly, if you’re one of those who rails against “freeloaders” and people who “take advantage” of what others have earned and paid for, I would think this deliberate aiding of same, as well as the deliberate stripping of a political opponent for political reasons, even as Citizens United has granted business a license to fund anything, you would at least admit the hypocrisy. Guess not.
These folks were already NOT paying for the political activities of the unions, this is total BS political shenanigans and trying to paint it any other way is ridiculous.
