 And definitely not ‘Nice’

Hampden-Sydney College this week expelled one student and disciplined three others who participated in an unruly, racially tinged protest outside the Minority Student Union the night President Barack Obama was re-elected. The incident at the tradition-bound, all-male Southern college was disturbingly reminiscent of the mob violence against blacks that marked the nation’s Jim Crow era.
