IDK what is in the water lately with insurance regulations and operations but this year, for the first time in my soon to be 33 years of marriage, we had to "prove" not only our marriage but much more to be eligible for Employee + Spouse coverage. It was over the top IMO, how on earth are domestic partners going to be asked to "prove it"?

I literally had to send them a copy of our marriage certificate, proof of a joint bank account, proof of joint ownership of our home, proof of joint car insurance, proof of joint homeowner's insurance, and a Driver's License or other ID that proved we lived at the same address.
