It is now the law of the land. The 2A refers to arms common of the time. Police, homeowners, and yes criminals all use semiauto pistolas. They are protected.

Scott, the biggest enemy of liberty is the UN, who wants to regulate both the internet (free speech) and guns. So far, the US has resisted the first (but give them time…) and is embracing the latter.

6 – yes, that has been suggested, and we should fight that as vigorously as we fight attempts to remove out other constitutional liberties. Thankfully, it’s the same people trying to do both, so we know who the real enemies of liberty are.

I’m simply using the exact same logic that is being used against owners of AR-15′s, Scott.

You say the founding fathers never envisioned rapid fire weapons because they didn’t exist at the time (which is false), so therefore modern weapons are not covered by the 2nd Amendment.

Logically, your argument is hogwash.

In today’s piece “Gun right lost in a time warp” by Ken Conklin, Mr. Conklin states that “The Second Amendment was conceived within the context of the technology of the day, single-shot guns.”

This is in fact false.

Two examples of multi-shot guns from that time period:

It’s also interesting that Mr. Conklin uses a computer to suggest that modern weapons are not covered by the second amendment due to them not existing when it was written.

Perhaps folks will give up their guns when he goes back to using quills.
