Child care makes a difference
By Phyllis T. Albritton
After reading Michael Sluss’ article (“Budget proposals differ on Medicaid,” Feb. 8, I wanted to see how much money was going to the River North Correctional Center.
What I found was astounding — more than $14 million. Just think if that money were used for day care.

hmmm 3 months after birth, if you can’t provide food music rest time etc….then your neighbor should for you in the form of 8 hour daycare. How about it’s March 1st 2013 and you suspect you’d be a lousy parent, you have no desire to become a parent, you have no financial means to be a parent…how about you take responsibility and continue taking your pill, how about the sperm donor take responsibility and use a condom or better yet, if conditions aren’t right, why don’t you and Spanky hold off on the procreation activities til they are. That way the lovely couple hasn’t brought a baby into the world that can’t be provided for on March 1, 2014.
Lipstick or not, it’s still a pig.
How about we dictate all kinds of things we approve of and demand all kinds of things we do not approve of stop, to all kinds of people named “Spanky” AND Thurston? A society is successful when it helps those who need it without punishing them for needing it.
#1 Thanks BUD for the condescending accountability lesson. There’s one thing you forgot. When a child is brought into the world, it wasn’t the child’s fault.
