Credit errors point to need for watchdog

A Federal Trade Commission study found 21 percent of consumers had errors on their reports.

If a neighbor or coworker were spreading false information that could cause you financial harm, you would want to know about it in order to apply a quick remedy.

The problem can be harder to solve when a credit agency is the one making erroneous allegations.
