Questionable morals
The governor has chosen politics over the fates of uninsured Virginians.
Gov. Bob McDonnell ignored the needs of Virginians in warning the General Assembly’s top budget negotiators this week not to include provisions for expanding Medicaid as they work toward Saturday’s deadline for passing state budget amendments.
McDonnell said he will not consider an expansion of the federal-state health care program for the poor until Washington authorizes major cost-containment reforms. In fact, until “reforms are authorized and completed.”

“Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?”
Pragmatism can be a real b****.
With the Roberts decision & the presidential election, the VA legislature & governor need to make decisions within the context of ACA as reality.
With the unfolding of the true costs & failures of ACA, political chips will fall.
But the gov needs to accept it’s reality and best represent VA fiscally & minimize damage both fiscally & with policy.
(Choke, choke).
Like Scott in Florida. This war is over.
Governor Bob McDonnell will go down in Virginia history as the worst Governor of the state since Thomas B Stanley.
Thank you for calling a spade a spade.
“Putting political ambition above the immediate needs of uninsured Virginians — now that is immoral.”
Whose morals are you talking about? My morals and yours may be different by each is valid. Unless, of course, we have a reference book on morals to use as a referee. But, since there can be no mention of the Holy Bible in government, I suggest everyone has his each set of valid morals.
