Scott, who lost 110 pounds in the past 16 months, says obesity is not a disease, but rather a symptom of societal discrimination and scientific failure in the form of unhealthy food additives.
Until recently, I haven’t been able to afford the tools, time, and foods necessary to get in shape. They require markedly more time and money to prepare and utilize. This is the point a lot of people gloss over. There’s a reason that successful people are rarely obese… Because they have the money or resources to commit time to get in shape. When I had less money, I had to work a lot harder to make ends meet and simply had no time to commit to myself.
There *IS* a component of willpower involved, that much is for sure. I use various emotions to keep that going, sometimes its anger/rage, sometimes its depression and the natural high I get from going on a very long walk. But it certainly is a big deterrent to willpower when small-minded people who’ve always been skinny are judgmental and then sit around and complain about “fatties.” or say things such as Steve Siebold did.
