For a man who is not running for governor, Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling has had a lot to say about the race between Democrat Terry McAuliffe and Republican Lt. Gov. Ken Cuccinelli — whose deft political footwork denied Bolling his party’s nomination.
Last week in Henry County, where Eastman Chemical Co. announced an expansion that’s expected to add 25 jobs in job-starved Southside, Bolling gave the stump speech that might have been: lauding the McDonnell administration, in which he served as “chief job creator,” and noting that Gov. Bob McDonnell appointed Virginia’s first deputy commerce secretary for rural economic development.
