Interesting news – according to the latest WP-ABC News poll, at this point in his presidency, Obama has reached a low not reached since Nixon:
“Obama ends his fifth year in office with lower approval ratings than almost all other recent two-term presidents. At this point in 2005, for example, former president George W. Bush was at 47 percent positive, 52 percent negative. All other post-World War II presidents were at or above 50 percent at this point in their second terms, except Richard M. Nixon, whose fifth year ended in 1973 with an approval rating of 29 percent because of the Watergate scandal that later brought impeachment and his resignation.”
Also from the article:
“Obama also has lost the lead he enjoyed on who could better deal with the economy. Today Republicans are at 45 percent to Obama’s 41 percent. Last year at this time, it was Obama at 54 percent and congressional Republicans at 36 percent. A 26-point Obama advantage a year ago on who would better protect the middle class has fallen to just six points in the latest survey. He has lost ground on these measures among women, liberals and younger Americans — key members of his winning electoral coalition.”
People are finally realizing they have elected an empty suit, full of empty promises.
A MSM journalist admits it (and I use the term loosely because I’ve never considered her a serious journalist). From CNN’s “Piers Morgan Live” last night:
BARBARA WALTERS: “Well, you’ve touched on it to a degree. He made so many promises. We thought that he was going to be – I shouldn’t say this at Christmastime, but – the next messiah. And the whole ObamaCare, or whatever you want to call it, the Affordable Health Act, it just hasn’t worked for him, and he’s stumbled around on it, and people feel very disappointed because they expected more.”
But never fear…Babs is still rooting for him, hoping he’ll pull a rabbit out of his hat:
“But you know, he still has several years to go. What does he have, three years, Piers? And, you know, there will be a lot of changes, one thinks in that time.”
This is so indicative of the bias that Walters and other “journalists” had (and still have) for Obama. Fortunately, many Americans are finally waking up.
It’s worth noting that this interview happened on the same day that Obama’s approval ratings reached a new low…and the day after the Washington Post reported that Obama was responsible for three of the top ten biggest Pinocchios of the year:
Another smack down for our Imperial President!
On the heels of a decision ruling a key provision of the Obama administration’s secret domestic surveillance program unconstitutional, another judge has hit the president for secrecy and ordered the administration to open the books.
U.S. District Court Judge Ellen Huvelle, a Clinton appointee, blasted the administration for trying keep secret a memo on foreign aid, writing:
“The government appears to adopt the cavalier attitude that the President should be permitted to convey orders throughout the Executive Branch without public oversight…to engage in what is in effect governance by ‘secret law.’”
The death spiral continues!
