About the editorial staff of The Roanoke Times

Dan Radmacher

Dan Radmacher: Driven from a brief stint in Florida by hurricanes and fire ants, Dan Radmacher came to Roanoke in March 2005. Prior to moving to Florida, Radmacher spent 10 years as editorial page editor of the Charleston (W.Va.) Gazette.

Elizabeth Strother

Luanne Traud

Luanne Traud: Luanne Traud joined The Roanoke Times editorial board in June 2005. In a previous life, she worked on newspapers in Alabama and Tennessee before returning to her native Pennsylvania in 1987, where she worked first as a reporter and later as an editorial page editor. The breathtaking beauty of Virginia and the charm of her people lured Traud to return to the South.

Christian Trejbal

Christian Trejbal: The philosopher, mathematician and historian discovered editorial writing. "Who needs to finish a Ph.D.?" he asked. From Cleveland, by way of Indiana, Minnesota and Oregon, Christian Trejbal landed in Southwest Virginia.

She has worked as staff writer, Neighbors editor and most recently as a metro editor at The Roanoke Times before joining the newspaper's editorial staff in November 2006.
