An unwise amendment to the GI Bill

John Warner is proposing to allow troops to transfer the education benefit to their spouses or children. JohnThis is a thinly vailed attempt to dilute the military by offering soldiers 4 years of college for 3 years of service thereby discouraging re-enlistment. Naturally, liberals would be opposed to soldiers being allowed to transfer these benifits to family members. This would not have the desired effect of discouraging re-enlistment. Sen. Webb is against the war on terror and wants to downsize our military and its ability for foreign deployments. Webb has done everything he could to defund the military and cut and run from Iraq. Like most liberals, he can't be trusted with the security of the nation. He is a coward no matter what his Vietnam service record.

JimThe war funding bill was not intending for Democrat pork attachments. Bush will veto as he rightly should do.
