Webb on The Daily Show

Ed S.Regarding the clip by Colbert...
The Son of Confederate Veterans guy was wrong about the flag being the ultimate symbol of the south. That honor falls squarely on the refreshing beverage we know as "sweet tea" (sweettea). And it is truly a sign of virulent yankee invasion when in the larger areas of Virginia and Florida, you cannot find sweettea in restaurants.
It's culinary genocide.
Yes, the south will rise again...against that vile drink you call "hot tea", and those that defile this fine drink with milk.

JoshHow apropos. A fake leader on a fake news show.
Both of these idiots are dishonent, pretending they "don't know why" Bush or McCain would oppose Webb's bill.
Nothing is mentioned about the goodies tacked on to the GI Bill such as the extension of unemployment insurance, the Senate added more than $10 billion for various other domestic programs, including heating subsidies for the poor, wildfire fighting, road and bridge repair, and health research.
Doh!

JimJim Webb is trying really hard to get the government to give his son a free ride. And he had NO idea that this would be a "political issue":) Webb, like Stewart, is a disgrace. He doesn't mention the pork crap attached to this war-only funding bill, nor does he say that Bush stated he would address veteran education funding separately.
Watch how the left, like Obama, will try and relegate the Confederate flag to a museum. They feel the need to suppress true history, or to sweep it under the rug such as any controversy for the American flag despite the genocide of the Native Americans.

Bill McClureFunny how Webb has been "outed" by The Politico for his "extremist" views. Actually he merely talks about reality, not the sham the Confederacy was made out to be. I normally would feel sorry for him, except his campaign used the Confederate items George Allen collected a huge issue. It comes around to bite you! No VP for Webb! Odd how a scandal for Webb just popped up, after your little Jon Stewart/Colbert is reality bit. No wonder this paper is out to lunch.

MichelleI agree with Ed S. The SCV guy was wrong about the Southern Cross being the "ultimate" symbol of the South. There were many Confederate flags. The Southern Cross was just one of them.
On the other hand, sweet tea, grits, and sausage gravy are representative of the entire South. Perhaps the SCV should look into erecting a 50 foot flag depicting a heaping plate of grits and gravy biscuits and a mason jar filled to the brim with sweet tea. The only two groups, that I can think of, that would be offended by this display of southern heritage would be Weight Watchers and the American Heart Association.
