WillIf the parking garages that are currently downtown were filled to capacity on weekends, I could perhaps see the need to charge for parking. However, during my recent trips to the Market area, the garages seem to be virtually empty.
I think the revenue they'll generate won't even come close to the bad publicity the city will receive over the fee itself.
As usual, Council is shooting itself in the foot AGAIN. You'd think they would learn sooner or later but I guess history does in fact continue to repeat itself.

BUDLet's see businesses are charged an annual fee for doing business in Roanoke city, the city recoups part of the sales tax generated by sales, the city gets 4% of the meals bill from city restaurants... now the BUSINESSES need to come up with a solution to the city wanting to charge for parking?? hehehe HAHAHAHAHA BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAahahahaha!!!
