Joe HokieOK, we know the Editorial folks don't mingle with any of the other folks in the building, but please pass this on to the Extra folks:
Please bring back "Pearls Before Swine"
You could drop that stupid "Close to Home" to make room, but I suspect that the syndicate pays the RT to print that poorly drawn and unfunny comic. You could also drop "Gil Thorp" but I suspect the "no change" Roanokers would riot over losing that gem.

Ed S.haha I have no dog in the fight, but it has been amusing to see the number of LTEs dedicated to this.
As many controversial articles/issues as the EB digs up, this appears to have sparked more controversy. Which is kinda sad in a way, but funny.

AlEXTRA EXTRA Don't read all about it....in the Roanoke Times.
What a great story it would make. Wehco Media Inc of Little Rock Ark toured several of the Landmark papers recently including the Roanoke Times. The flag-ship paper of Wehco, according to one source, is the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette...but don't let the name fool you. The paper and organization have a reputation of being rather "right winged" shall we say. No wonder we are beginning to see some hint of conservative views popping up in the Times now. If there is justice in the end, the good people of Roanoke may be rewarded with a new owner that has their head properly positioned on their body!

NickI agree with Joe Hokies comment about 'Pearls before Swine'. It was actually refreshing to have a 3 month break from Trudeau's lefty comic strip 'Doonesbury.' That is a strip that hasn't been relevant since the mid 70's. Yes, Mr. Trudeau, we have all figured out over the last 30 years that you don't like anything that smacks of individual responsiblity or small government. Let's bring back Pearls before Swine as I'm worried about the continuing confrontation between the Crocs and Zeebas.

HenryI agree. Doonesbury is written like a fax from the DNC. Pearls Before Swine was great.
Put Doonesbury on the Editorial Page where it belongs.
