Lord Botetourt FFA Hometown Scholarship Truck fundraiser in full swing

A press release has come from the Hometown Scholarship program concerning LBHS's FFA:

The Hometown Scholarship Program, presented by local Dodge Dealers including Dominion Dodge along with The Lord Botetourt FFA announced the launch of the 2008 charity fundraising campaign that generates scholarship funds for high school students. The Hometown Scholarship Program is part of Dominion Dodge’s continuing commitment to the hometown community.

This Fall, Lord Botetourt FFA members will attend community events to request $5.00 suggested donations in support of their Hometown Scholarship Program. With each $5.00 suggested donation, 100 percent of the proceeds go to scholarship and leadership development programs.

Individuals who donate to the program may register to win a 2009 Dodge Ram Crew Cab 1500 truck and automatically receive a voucher to redeem a complimentary T-shirt at Dominion Dodge of Salem.

“We encourage parents, families, neighbors and friends of Lord Botetourt FFA to support this program by providing a suggested $5.00 donation at local events such as hometown football games and other events throughout our community

stated Stuart Byrd Agriculture Instructor and Advisor of the Lord Botetourt FFA. “This innovative program creates scholarship money for our members. to further their education, attend various programs and educational activities, supports our community service projects and enhances the development of future leaders.”

Now celebrating its sixth year, the Hometown Scholarship Program has raised more than $3.8 million for various high school organizations throughout the country.
