The Knight's girls ran strong yesterday as did the three of the four boy members against tough competition from Parry McClure, Bath County, Craig County and Highland Counties. There are one too few males to score for the meet, but the Knights girls ran well with Brita Grim the top runner.

The Knights hosted the cross country run on their track and campus yesterday as runners like conga lines wound around the hills and fields of the high school campus. Parents line the sides of the parking lot yelling "good job, keep it up!"

James River AD Sheila Proffit guards the entry way to keep cars at bay while runners cross the parking lot and she also gives plenty of encouragement to all of the runners. We thought hosting here is a better idea than going over to Greenfield she said. By the looks of the participation from all areas north and east of the school they probably saved on gas coming to the school instead of the Sports Complex as well.

Coach McLeese said the runners are improving. he was sad they lacked enough young men to score a team but is proud of the four who are running.
