Lilac bloomed in April and now again in September

Right off Carper Street in Fincastle Paige Ware's lilac is blooming again. Yes, in September.

"thisThis lilac in a Fincastle yard bloomed in April and now again in September. This is the first time I have ever seen this happen," said Ware, who is the librarian at Fincastle Library. "The lilac bloomed in April as normal."

"The blooms were especially beautiful this year," noted Ware. She is puzzled as to why they would bloom again in the early fall. Anyone out there have any ideas? news@botetourtview.com
