Three generations of Ikenberry women, Jennifer Ikenberry, Loretta Ikenberry and Gwen Ikenberry invite the public to the Fall Apple Festival two day event on October 18 and 19 at Ikenberry's store and corn maze
Fun for all can be had at the Ikenberry's Fall Apple Festival. "This is a family and community even," said Gwen Ikenberry of Ikenberry's. The two day event is 9-5 on Saturday and Sunday October 18 and 19. It will feature the Botetourt Farmer's Market along with crafts, food, blue grass music by the Craig County Boys, corn maze, crafts, Jewelry from Cathy Quinn, Chuck Harris' handcrafted American Windsor chairs, Becky Davis' handmade jewelery, Bonnie Zampogna and her miniature horse cart rides, face painting, Southern Living Interiors by Cynthia Fralin and a pumpkin patch. Not to mention the goodies within the store and Mums at the green house that are every day at Ikenberry's.
"We are celebrating the fall apple harvest just like we did last year," said Ikenberry.
The Lord Botetourt High School FFA will be making apple butter all day on site and of course will be offering the product for sale after it is canned! Contact sbyrd@bcps.k12.va.us.
This year the Ikenberry enterpise, has added what she describes as a Hillbilly corn maze. It has signs naming geographic locations throughout the world and how far they are from Ikenberry's. The cost is $5 per head and they will even have the maze open on Friday and Saturday nights through out the fall until 9 p.m.for flashlight maze walking. "On Halloween, the maze will be haunted," said Ikenberry with a mishievious grin!
During the week the maze will be open normal store hours are 9-5.
