Lord Botetourt students place at State Fair

Matthew Chocolate and

LBHS FFA students Matthew Chocolate and Matthew Taylor placed second in tractor trouble shooting at the Virginia State Fair

Matthew Chocklett and Matthew Taylor placed 2nd in the VA State Tractor Troubleshooting competition, held at the State fair of Virginia. The Tractor Troubleshooting Competition is designed to put students in a real world situation just like they might on the farm or if they worked in a machinery repair business. In this competition students take a 50 question written test on safety, operation, and theory of operation on standard farm tractors. Students then have to diagnose real world malfunctions on five farm tractors. After this the Students draw of the five tractors and are given 20 minutes to make the necessary repair to the tractor and have it in proper working condition. To get to this competition students must first compete and win at the Chapter, Federation, and then Area Levels. Sponsor, Stuart Byrd said, "Thanks to Blue Ridge Farm Center of Buchanan for sponsoring our team."
