Botetourt player on team that wins Kroger Cup

The Roanoke Star U18 Elite team has won the Kroger Cup tournament and the team includes one player from Botetourt County -- Ashlie Caldwell of Lord Botetourt High School

The Roanoke Star U18 Elite team won the U19 Division of the Kroger Cup Tournament on October 11-12. The Stars went undefeated and outscored their opponents 13-3. Team members include prep players from ten area high schools;

Cave Spring - Liz Wilson, Jennifer Wade, Marion Whisnant, and Sarah Zillioux
Franklin County - Victoria Bruce and Crissy Moran
Hidden Valley - Maddy Elder, Anna Moir, Kendall Lynch, and Anna Romeiser
Jefferson Forest - Jordan May and Nicki Jannah
Lord Botetourt - Ashlie Caldwell
North Cross - Hallie Martin
Northside - Elizabeth White
Patrick Henry - Kate Norbo, Maggie Dent, and Kathleen Peake
Rockbridge County - Virginia Williams and Kelsey Sundby
Salem - Meghan Dishaw and Kim Elmore

Two members of the Roanoke Star U18 Elite team have made commitments to play soccer in the ACC next year. Maddy Elder has committed to Clemson and Kate Norbo to the University of Virginia. The team is coached by Mark Meyer and Ariel Thompson.
