New kennel lives up to its name: Peaceful Haven

Peaceful Haven Kennel off Grove Hill Road is a dream come true for Lara and Scott Price

Peaceful Haven Kennel off Grove Hill Road is a dream come true for Lara and Scott Price.

Peaceful Haven Kennel is located at the foot of Caldwell Mountain in western Botetourt County on Route 606 Grove Hill Road. The kennel is designed for the comfort of the dog-large or small. In fact the owners Scott and Laura Price had large dogs in mind when they decided to open a kennel as they own several.

The view of the mountain is beautiful in early fall and the Prices' first weekend culminated the day before with 7 happy canines that spent a week end. The runs are 20 feet long on one side of the building and 15 feet on the other. There are two communal play areas available.

The Prices provide the dog food, too. Drop-offs are by appointment so the dog can get used to the new environment while the owner is around and there are no other distractions,” said Scott Price. There’s a kitchen, sitting area, satellite music and a grooming area if the need arises. Better yet, each dog gets personal attention and lots of it during the stay.

The Prices used green friendly paint and are very conscious of more natural and less chemical in their approach to the kennel. For more information about the kennel and pricing, contact the Prices at 473-1803.
