Young Life Botetourt held its annual banquet at Fincastle Baptist Church this year and several hundred parents and teens attended. The Young Life members acted as waiters for the family style banquet that featured salad, chicken, green beans, potatoes and "Dirt" pudding for dessert.

Young Life is a Christian teen organization that is nationwide. The Young Life practices what local leader Dave Harris says are the 4 C's:

Contact: They interact with the kids at school at lunch in groups, sporting events and so forth.

Club: They go to someone's home and invite the kids into the house for singing and Christian interaction.

Campaigners: Students in Young Life who meet and lead Bible study or work with the middle school group Wyldlife.

Camp: Young Life goes to camp twice per year where kids can enjoy activities and explore deeper commitment to Christ. Young Life Camp is located in Rockbridge County for the local groups.

One young member, Eric Imhof of LBHS, gave a personal testimony on his involvement with the organization and his personal relationship with jesus Christ. Parents Paul and Missy Phillips gave witness to their Christian commitment since the death of their daughter Torie, who was a junior at LBHS and Young Life member, in a car accident the day before school started in 2006.

Key note speaker for the night was Tim Toy, the Young Life area leader in Richmond. He spoke of his years in the organization and sacrifice. More pictures of the event.
