Botetourt Buddies visit D-Day Memorial

The Botetourt Buddies along with Tater Benson and aides made a trip to the National D-Day Memorial on Tuesday.

The Botetourt Buddies along with Tater Benson and teacher aides made a trip to the National D-Day Memorial on Tuesday.

From Vanessa Romas, the junior at LBHS who helped organize Botetourt Buddies a group of special needs and general education kids into a friendship club at the school. "This picture from our field trip we took on Tuesday to the D-Day memorial. It was quite chilly, but everyone made it!! We also were presented with a check from the Civitan Club a few weeks ago! WTG, Botetourt Buddies!

  1. My dad is D-Day veteran. In the Navy, his ship, LST-504, made 13 crossings of the English Channel on D-Day. He's been able to visit the memorial twice.

  2. I worked to get it built for folks like your Dad and my uncle and so future generations just like these kids could see what those heroes did for us!
