Happy Thanksgiving meal at James River High School
JRHS Culinary Arts class celebrated Thanksgiving by cooking side dishes and baking a turkey.
Students in the Introduction to Culinary Arts class at James River High School planned and enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving dinner last Friday. The students planned the menu, table arrangement and decorations, Thanksgiving readings, and set the proper place setting for each member of the class. The students prepared a ham and a turkey in class and brought other dishes of their choice from home to complete the meal.

Congrats to these students! I never would have known how to prepare a turkey at that age.

Me, either Jane! I was most interested in the fact they prepared desserts and sides at home. I know one of these kids very well (lol) and he made from scratch mashed potatoes something his Mom(me)never does! I hear from Mrs. Marshall everything was tasty and filled them up!

Wow... I wish they had offered a culinary class when I attended JRHS!!! I'm jealous!!

I know I had to learn how to cook from my mother who was very set on what I could fix. These kids have even made a Coca Cola chocolate cake in class and cheese cake I think, too!
