Lord Botetourt FBLA does a toilet paper drive for the Rescue Mission
Paper is expensive and the LBHS toilet paper drive saved the Rescue Mission a great deal of money. Lisa Barnett, the sponsor of the Future Business Leaders of America sent this in!
LBHS FBLA wanted to participate in a community service project this fall but, in order to stand apart from the other service projects around school, they knew it had to be different. One group was sponsoring a canned food drive and another sponsored a military parent’s drive. After contacting the Roanoke Rescue mission, the choice was clear—a toilet paper drive! The rescue mission reports they go through about 80 rolls of toilet paper each day and they would definitely appreciate support for that need.
A contest was launched November 17 between first block classes to see which class could bring in the most rolls of toilet paper by the end of that week. Only ten first block classes participated and the competition was fierce. Mr. Taylor’s first block brought in 749 rolls to win the competition. They will be awarded a breakfast for their class. Mrs. Stritesky’s first block brought in 525 to earn a second place spot. In total the FBLA delivered 1668 rolls of toilet paper to the Rescue Mission right before Thanksgiving to help them with their holiday crowd. Way to go Cavaliers!
