Your online guide to the Dec. 5 issue of The Botetourt View
If you think your life is a blur this holiday season, check out these Read Mountain cheerleaders at last week's Read Mountain - Central Academy basketball game.
Actually, games -- one for the boys, one for the girls. We have a photo gallery of all the action right here.
Each week, we tell readers to come online for more -- and this week that's one of the stories where we have more. Lots more, actually -- some 75 photos.
But wait, that's not all. We also have:
* Photos from wreck on I-81 near Buchanan
* Photos of Botetourt people at the Drumstick Dash
* James River High School holds poetry slam
* Larry Ceola's video letter-to-the-editor about the Happy Mart in Fincastle
* Photos from the Attic Productions show "Those Crazy Ladies in the House on the Corner," which opens this week.
* Photos of Botetourt people at the Little Black Dress Party
Also new and improved this week: To the right, you'll see a new category called "Easy guide to our online links." That's where we'll be storing the weekly online guides, to make them, well, easier to find.
So how can you get your news and photos in The Botetourt View? Easy! You can share at news@botetourtview.com. We try to post things here (almost) as soon as we get them, making this the online equivalent of a daily newspaper for Botetourt County.
For more information -- including how to advertise and reach more than 90 percent of the households in Botetourt County -- see below:
* You can meet our community journalist for Botetourt, Cathy Benson. She keeps regular offices hours at our Botetourt "bureau" -- at Mill Mountain Coffee & Tea in Daleville. Here’s her schedule.
* So how do we reach 90 percent of the households in Botetourt County? Here’s how: Subscribers to The Roanoke Times get it included in their Friday paper; non-subscribers have it mailed to them as part of the weekly Simply Savings advertising flier. Those two add up to more than 90 percent. Plus, we have some free copies available at Kroger, Food Lion, the Botetourt Athletic Club and the Mill Mountain Coffee and Tea in Daleville, in case you we somehow miss you.
* Are you an advertiser who wants to reach more than 90 percent of the households in Botetourt? To find out more, you can email us at advertise@botetourtview.com. If you want to place a classified ad in our Botetourt edition, you can reach us at classifieds@botetourtview.com.
