Hunter Monk who has been undergoing Leukemia treatment and received great support from the Buchanan Community served as Grand Marshal for the Buchanan Christmas Parade.

Saturday afternoon brought out the parade goers in Buchanan. Firetrucks, horses, cute dogs and a beauty queen intermingled with clowns, Scouts, 4-H clubs and a bevy of beautiful church floats. The parade weather was much better this Saturday with temperatures in the 40s. Smiles were everywhere as the spirit of Christmas present filled the town. The marching Knights delighted the crowd with Christmas tunes. For a gallery of parade pics, click here.

Hunter Monk, who has been battling leukemia, served as the Parade Grand Marshal. He will be going to Disney World soon during the holidays on the trip he won as a wish on Q-99 this past summer and guess what Hunter is excited about that!

Virginia Presbyterian on Pico Road won the best float, according to The Botetourt View columnist Priscilla Richardson, who served as a judge this year.
