Community input meetings set for new school budget

School board members Ruth Wallace, Kathy Sullivan, Jack Leffel and Mike Beahm ( not pictured Scott Swortzel) standing with Dr. Tony Brads and board clerk Betty Holland will be present to hear suggestions for the new school budget 09-10 on three January evenings.
Its that time of year again. Community in put is sought by the Botetourt County School Board for the school budget. "It has been effective," said Dr. Tony Brads school superintendent. For the past six years the school board has offered the public meetings three different evenings and locations prior to the first budget meeting of the year. School board members come to listen to the public's ideas on items that should be included in the budget for 2009-10.
Some of the additions to the school division that have been included in the past budgets and resulted directly from the public input include athletic trainers on the high school level and art teachers for the elementary level as well as an increase in music teachers on the elementary level.
