Photo of Troutville Elementary School DARE essay winners

Fifth graders at Troutville Elementary School held their DARE graduation on Dec. 18. Students wrote an essay on what they have learned from DARE instruction and the top three essays from each class were chosen to receive an award.

The winners are shown with DARE Officer Mitch Deskins. From left to right: Sarju Patel, Savannah Lucas, Greysen Newberry, Erin Stinnett, Lauren Tucker, Alisa Lumsden (overall first place winner), Abby Rigatti, Hannah Bronson, and Alex Wolfe.
