Curves Food Drive begins today
Curves in Daleville announces today is the 11th annual food drive beginning and will last through the end of March. Last year over 50 million pounds of food were distributed to local community food banks by the Curves business through out the country. Terry Tucker, who represents the local Curves in the Roanoke Valley and Daleville in Public Relations, said in Botetourt County, the Botetourt Food Pantry in Fincastle receives the food. Karen Mezza is the manager of the Daleville Curves where the drive is held locally.
Lawrence Transportation sends a driver and truck to pick up the food, weighs it and delivers it to the Food Pantry. Tucker said that local citizens can use the Curves in Daleville located in Botetourt Commons to drop off food donations as well. "Just be sure that the cans and donations are non perishable, are in date and have not expired. A good rule of thumb for food donations is to give something you would feed your own family," said Tucker.
