Obenshain becomes a JAG

First Lieutanant J. Christian Obenshain graduated from the U.S. Army's Judge Advocate General's (JAG) School, receiving recognition on the Commandant's List, on May 6, 2009 in Charlottesville, VA. Lt. Obenshain has served in the Army Reserve since January2003, achieving the rank of Sergeant prior to his commissioning in October, 2008. Obenshain is continuing his Officer's training at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. He will serve as an Army Reserve Judge Advocate for the 154th Legal Services Organization.
Lt. Obenshain is a graduate of Cave Spring High School (1996), Bridgewater College (2000) and received his J.D. degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2006. Subsequently, he served as law clerk for the Hon. James W. Haley, Jr., a judge of the Virginia Court of Appeals. Obenshain is on leave from the Radford Commonwealth Attorney's Office where he serves as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney. He will return to the City of Radford upon completion of his training in July.
Obenshain is the son of Joe & Marcia Obenshain of Fincastle, Virginia.
