Poetry Corner had a nice beginning

Poetry Corner had a "Bakers Dozen" at the first meeting.

Poetry Corner had a "Baker's dozen" at the first meeting.

The Poetry Corner began last evening at Fincastle Libray and thirteen poets-- twelve from Botetourt and one from Roanoke came to the first meeting. Many of those in the audience read their work to the interested crowd. Dr. Randall Hayes and Steve Vest, head librarian for the county sytem organized the group. Hayes remarked that the event was well attended and that Vest composed a spontaneaous poem about the event. As a group they discussed rotating the meetings around to thte various branches in Blue Ridge and Buchanan. The next meeting is scheduled for August date and time to be announced. Sign-up sheets can be found at the library branches.
