Parks and Recreation had to battle a high James River on Saturday so the fishing took place in the tanks set up on the carnival grounds in Buchanan. The temperatures were temperate and a sunny sky was welcomed after three days of rain.Activities from a Petting Zoo from Natural Bridge Zoo to face painting and fishing casting allowed children of all ages to enjoy the festivities.

The trout in the tanks were not biting early in the day and one little fellow actually poked a fish with a pole and said , "Eat!" but the children seemed to have a great time with the other activities. The line for the face painting was especially long. Prizes were given out through out the event.

The Fire Department made food for donations and the Bank of Botetourt volunteers took registrations and handed out balloons.
