Dress Code Policy sent to parents in report cards

Jonie Poff, BCPS Supervisor for Secondary Education, with the dress code brochure that went home in report cards last week.
There's something new about the Botetourt County public school dress code, but it is the same dress code. The difference is that it will be enforced in middle and high school because all of the schools are on the same page. No more spaghetti straps, beer t-shirts or hole filled jeans or shorts shorter than five inches from the top of the thigh.
Jonie Poff, PHD, the supervisor for secondary education, had students model what is and is not acceptable. The photos are in a dress code brochure sent in all middle and high school report cards last week. "Parents should familiarize themselves with the brochure before going school shopping," said Poff.
"Most of the schools had a dress code meeting with the students before the end of school," said Poff. "Students helped us. We are using student friendly language and pictures. We think the message about what is acceptable is clear."
The dress code is on the four schools' and BTEC websites as well as the division website.

It would be simpler and less costly in the long run to use school uniforms. Even states as backwards as Louisiana do that and it works great. No more worrying about what kid has what name brand of clothing. They are all the same and equal.
