James River looks great; blueway under development

The James River was near perfect on Saturday for swimming, boating and tubing.

The James River was near perfect on Saturday for swimming, boating and tubing.

After weeks of rain, the James River is still up and moving swiftly but not as fast as it was several weeks ago when a rafter drowned near Glen Wilton. On Saturday tubers, canoeists and fishermen traveled the river near Springwood.  The James River Blueway is under tourism development in Botetourt County. We will have more on the Blueway as it transpires. Look at those reflections. No wonder people come from all over the country to fish and float the James River!
