Update on car crash that killed infant

Sgt. Rob Carpentieri reported last night that two adults and two infants were in the single car crash that resulted in the death of a fourteen day old infant, Abbagayle Blankenship on Monday night June 29. The survivors include adults, twin sisters Denna and Dana Blankenship, both 18 of Buchanan, and a 10 month old infant. Denna Blankenship was the driver of the vehicle that veered across the road into an embankment on Monday night about 1 mile north of the Brughs Mill Intersection on Route 11.

Both adults are still in the hospital he said. The 10 month old infant has been released. The investigation continues and at this time no charges have been pressed. Trooper J.E. Rigby answered the call. The passengers had on seat belts, the 10 month old in a car seat and the deceased baby was also in car seat.
