Entire Bertholf family goes to Bermuda for 60th wedding anniversary

Dr. Max and Nancy Bertholf of Daleville celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on June 21.  Dr. Bertholf said their entire family, including wives and grandchildren with the exception of one grandson, was able to accompany them on a round trip cruise to Bermuda. Pictured by rows, (floor level) Aaron and Abby Bertholf (Jacksonville, FL) Max and Nancy Bertholf, Daleville,  Jessica and Lindsey Bertholf (Troutville); (on first step) Marsha Bertholf (Jacksonville), Kris Bertholf (Troutville), (second step) Roger Bertholf (Jacksonville), Erick and Jonathan Guessford (Daleville), Kevin Bertholf (Troutville);  (third step) Carol Bertholf Guessford and Michael Guessford (Daleville);  (forth step) Siobhan Jennings (Alexandria, VA), Amelia Cassell ( Fincastle), Susan Bertholf Jennings LaRose (Roanoke), (fifth step) Greg Jennings (Alexandria), Ron Cassell (unofficially adopted son, Roanoke) Lenny LaRose (Roanoke).

Also, according to Bertholf, 2009 was the celebration year of the 25th wedding anniversaries of two of their children, Carol (and Michael) Guessford, and Kevin (and Kris) Bertholf,  plus the college graduation from Virginia Tech of Lindsey Bertholf, in civil engineering (Summa Cum Laude), High School graduations of Jessica Bertholf from James River, (Valedictorian), and Amelia Cassell from James River (With Honors).  Also celebrated was Susan LaRoses retirement from teaching 35 years as librarian at Cloverdale Elementary School.  "This was about as much celebration as the family could handle on one cruise," Bertholf said!

  2. I found this article amazing. All of Max's and Nancy's kids are still close to their parents and are able to travel together. I remember when they all went on the train to California. Best wishes and much love to you all, love Judy
