Jon and Karen Fleming, of Blacksburg sent in this picture of the NRUSA U13 girls' travel soccer team. They finished as U13 age group champions at the 2009 Kroger Cup Tournament which was hosted by the Roanoke Star Soccer Club Oct. 10-11. They finished with a perfect 4-0 record. The girls have defeated teams from Roanoke Star, Central Virginia United and Loudoun County.

Diane Yopp submitted this photo of the Auburn High School class of 1964 reunion. The reunion was held Oct. 3 at the Riner Fire Station. Yopp said "We get together each year and have a wonderful time of fellowship."

This photo of a deer was sent in by Diane Yopp of Christiansburg. This was taken Oct. 17 on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Floyd count. Yopp said "He was so close, I took it through the car window. He did not run, just posed for his picture." She was also amazed to see the cross.

Rev. Christine Brownlie sent in this picture of herself and members of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Blacksburg, dedicating their time capsule and a memorial peace pole. Brownlie said "The eight plaques on the pole say 'May Peace Prevail' in the languages that were the native tongue of those who died in the shootings at Virginia Tech on April 16 2007."
