Radio is a sound salvation.

In this week's Riffs, I postulate that even in today's Web-obsessed, downloadable culture, where mp3s are devoured like potato chips at a picnic, most kids still hear new music first on the good ol' radio -- the original wireless.

  1. Another AMEN Ralph,
I wish we had some local cool radio. WWWOZ in New Orleans makes one want to start the day on the right foot. Also I remember WNEW out of NYC, wow, that could change a kids life.

About this blog

cutNscratch is The Roanoke Times music blog. Music reporter Tad Dickens enjoys pickin' and grinnin' and drummin', and he likes to write about music, too. He'll post plenty about local, regional and national music, but it won't be any fun at all if you don't jump in and have your say. So do it! | Read more about Tad.
