Question of the week: Your favorite local singer
Can't believe I haven't asked this already. Who is your favorite local singer?
Fire away.
« Saturday night in Roanoke: Jamie McLean Band, Blueground Undergrass, the Mumbles | New videos at the MusicCast: Poe Mack, Tre'Mendous, Robb-Bust »
Can't believe I haven't asked this already. Who is your favorite local singer?
Fire away.
ME!!!! Ok, maybe not.
Chuck Johnson/TK-421 by a long shot. Most talented musician/singer I've ever met in my life.
He also plays guitar and sings for Grammy award winning jazz artist, Najee. I went to see the show in Raleigh a couple months back and Chuck received a standing ovation from a capacity crowd every time his mouth hit the mic! It was amazing!
Honorable mention for Joe from Ademption. If you haven't seen Ademption, both Joe and Robert are very, very talented guys!

Without a doubt Chuck Johnson from TK-421 is the most talented singer I have ever seen. The first time I saw him, he gave me chills and it happens ever time I hear him sing to this day...

Love my former bandmate Chuck but I gotta throw kudos to my current singer too!
Rusty Gwaltney ranks right there at the top with him!

Chuck Johnson - TK-421. Without a doubt the most talented performer and all around just a great guy. Definitely has one of those voices that send chills down your spine and captivate the audience.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. You just hope that the Angel’s sound like that man should you come upon the Pearly Gates.
If you haven’t heard this one sing… you have NO idea what you’ve been missing!!

Certainly, Chuck has the best myspace friends! And he's a dadblamed good singer. I'm always impressed.
But *surely* there are some other good ones out there. Right?

I think there's a ton of talented singers in the Roanoke area. I'd say Daniel Wimmer was and is still one of my favorites! Maybe that's a little biased, but he still amazed me for over 6 years. Chuck Johnson is always at the top! I think Andy Hollander is underated for the area. For pure fun like no other, Jason Hill from Pop Rivets is a fav! And since no one is giving any female props, once Chrysty O'Carroll gets back on the scene... Watch out! Did I mention my boy Jeremey Hunsicker!!?!? I still don't see how he pulls off Steve Perry night after night on the road. It still amazes me! Just my 2 cents..... Actually, that was more like a nickel....

Tracy Morris is my favorite singer.
I also love Jason Hill (in lots of ways, really). I'm always impressed with his ability to sing so many different types of songs. I mean, he can go from Rick Springfield to Elvis, toss in some Johnny Cash and he's even been known to throw down a little Pussycat Dolls.
As far as female singers go, Holly Weber used to play out some and she is by far the most phenomenal female singer I have ever-- and I mean ever-- heard.
That Chuck guy isn't so bad, either.
