JJ Grey & Mofro to headline Floyd Fandango, July 4-5

Smell a mess of "Orange Blossoms" while you sample lots of regional wine and beer in the hills of Southwest Virginia. Along with Mofro, the bill includes Buckwheat Zydeco, Robert Jospe, Beleza Brazil, Basshound and Rolling Green.

  1. Tad-The Brian Jonestown Massacre show at the Orange Peel in Asheville last night was amazing. No onstage drama, just song after song of heavy psychedelic rock, 2 hours and 40 minutes straight with no breaks and no encore. The setlist was also amazing, covering most of their best songs selected from almost every album they've released. All for the big price of...yes, $15.00. That's what I said, 15 dollars! One ticket to see U2 in Charlottesville could get you into see a lot of BJM shows, huh!? 3 surprises-Joel Gion and Matt Hollywood are apparently back in the band and in fine form, and Anton Newcombe takes just about all of the guitar solos. Although obviously tired from the road as they come close to wrapping this tour up, the guys delivered like true veteran rock professionals. Other highlights of the show were watching each of the members completely flaunt the Orange Peel's no smoking rules by lighting up over and over and over again! Truly one of the live music moments of my life. For those readers who don't know this band, I strongly suggest you check them out.-Jay
