Tony Rice to team with Mountain Heart at FiddleFest

Tony Rice is unable to sing these days, but he can still play guitar like a beast. And with Josh Shilling of Mountain Heart singing, this combination will be hot. The combo is scheduled for two sets on Saturday, Aug. 1 at FiddleFest. Get the whole schedule -- including recent bluegrass chart-toppers Junior Sisk & Rambler's choice, at the FiddleFest Web site.

For me, the best news is that the festival no longer falls on the same weekend as FloydFest, so I can actually make it out. I'm psyched. If you're down for the hot bluegrass, mark your calendar for July 31-Aug. 1.

  1. I found Mountain Heart by accident on CMT late one night and immediately fell in love with the sound. I'm not sure if I'll be around Roanoke during that time, but they are coming up to my neck of the woods (northern VA) in mid-May. Hope to see them. Abernathy is quite the beast on that banjo.
