Floyd Music School invited to play at the White House

Mike Mitchell, a teacher at Floyd Music School, posted an update at facebook.com, saying that the school has been invited to brings its students to perform take part in an instructional seminar at the White House on July 21. The school also has confirmed the invitation, via its own facebook page.

The appearance apparently will be part of the White House music series, which First Lady Michelle Obama kicked off in mid-June, with jazz.

We're hoping to get more details from Mitchell, toute de suite.

More from Mitchell:

>Floyd Music School has been invited to be part of 150 students across the country to attend the First Lady's summer music education program at the White House on July 21st.

>The event is an afternoon workshop of country music and songwriting, to be given by, as yet unknown, country stars.

>We were recommended because of our unique approach to private music education; we teach both classical and bluegrass music.
