It's official: Lyle Lovett is coming to Roanoke

We had this in the paper a couple of weeks ago, but they finally made it official -- Lyle Lovett and his Large Band are coming to Roanoke Performing Arts Theatre on Oct. 31. Hey, Halloween! Wonder who Lovett will come dressed as? Abraham Lincoln?

According to a Roanoke Civic Center news release, Lovett will play songs from his upcoming record, "Natural Forces," as well as old favorites.

From the news release:

> Tickets are $55 and $45 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Visit the Roanoke Civic Center box office from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday-Friday, or 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday.  To purchase online, visit RoanokeCivicCenter.com, or charge-by-phone at 1-877-RCC-TIXNow (1.877.722.8496).

  3. i tried to buy tickets on line for this show. Got to a place where the web site said "If you have a promotional code, enter it here." Well, i don't have a promotional code, so i just pressed GO. Well, that doesn't work. It turns out if you DON'T have a promotional code, you cannot buy tickets at all. No wonder they have trouble filling this place. How stupid is it to frustrate a customer who is ready, willing and able to spend money? Now I guess I have to find time to go to the box office and buy my tickets that way. Or not.

  5. Dave, I don't understand what happened. Sometimes technology can go sour. Please try this link http://tr.im/z09d and that should take you directly to the buy tickets page for the Lyle Lovett show. This is going to be a terrific show and I hate to think you might miss it because there was a technical issue. Please let me know if you have any other issues. Tad is good about keeping me posted on his blog posts.
